Laurie Buchanan

Laurie Buchanan writes the Sean McPherson novels—fast-paced crime thrillers set in the Pacific Northwest. Her work has received critical acclaim from Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, Kirkus Reviews, and Booklist. In addition, her books have won prestigious awards, including the coveted PenCraft Award for Literary Excellence, Eric Hoffer Award finalist, and CLUE Book Award finalist. A cross between Dr. Dolittle, Nanny McPhee, and a type-A Buddhist, Laurie is an active listener, observer of details, payer of attention, reader and writer of books, kindness enthusiast, and red licorice aficionado. She’s married to a pilot who flies a Cessna 182. They, along with Henry, their Standard poodle, live in the Pacific Northwest, where she enjoys long walks, bicycling, camping, and photography—because sometimes the best word choice is a picture.
