Book description
One forgotten warrior fights for his family in ancient Israel
Omri has everything to prove and very little time to prove it. He is the eighth of twelve sons with no secure inheritance, a new wife, and an infant son whose future depends on an older brother who has already decided to take the family house. Israel is marching to war against the Amalekites, the king is said to honor one warrior of extraordinary merit after the battle, and this campaign is the only opening Omri is likely to get. Standing out among two hundred thousand men is nearly impossible, and the arrogant Baruch from his own tribe has already declared the honor his own.
Set in the turbulent reign of Israel's first king, the story weaves together desert warfare, family rivalry, and questions of divine obedience that feel as urgent today as they did three thousand years ago. If you enjoy richly researched ancient Israel stories, characters tested by battle and faith, and narratives drawn from the pages of Scripture, this novella belongs in your hands.
